VCCP Appoints Award-Winning Creative Yan Elliott as Creative Director in London

lobal challenger agency VCCP has appointed multi award-winning creative Yan Elliott as Creative Director, adding one of advertising’s most celebrated talents to its growing creative team.

With over 25 years’ experience at some of London’s leading agencies – including Mother, Engine, Lucky Generals, The&Partnership, and AMV BBDO – Elliott is behind some of the UK’s most iconic campaigns. His career highlights include Dr Pepper’s cult classic “What’s the worst that can happen?”, Orange’s “Gold Spots” cinema ads, and Sky’s enduring “Believe in Better” platform. Elliott also spotted emerging talent early, casting Martin Freeman in Super Noodles and Jesse Eisenberg in Dr Pepper before their breakthrough careers.

Beyond shaping culture-defining campaigns, Elliott has held senior creative leadership roles at Lucky Generals, WCRS and The&Partnership, and co-founded his own agency, Fabula. Most recently, as CCO of Weber Shandwick, he brought PR innovation into advertising, delivering world-first activations including Budweiser’s Refrigerated Art Frame.

At VCCP, Elliott will serve as Creative Director on Barclays and other clients, bringing creative leadership and fresh thinking to one of the agency’s biggest global accounts.

Chris Birch and Jonny Parker, Chief Creative Officers at VCCP, said:

“Yan’s written some of the greatest ads of our time – Orange ‘Gold Spots’, Dr Pepper’s ‘What’s the worst that can happen?’, Sky’s ‘Believe in Better’ – the kind of work that properly lodged itself in culture. Now he’s bringing that brilliance (and mischief) to VCCP. On top of that, he once ran his own agency from a canal boat, which makes him officially cooler than the rest of us. He’s a supreme talent, a lovely human, and we’re bloody delighted he’s here raiding the White Claw fridge with us.”

Yan Elliott, Creative Director at VCCP, added:

“VCCP has a track record of creating ideas that break into culture. That’s always been my ambition too – to make work people genuinely notice, enjoy and remember. I’m excited to join such a brilliant team hungry to keep pushing creativity further.”
